Match reports for Old Cents Second XV

Sat 12th Sept.(Away)
Brockworth Seconds 17-15 Old Cents Seconds
Old Cents put in great performance against Brockworth after their side had been pulled apart by First team cry offs and player cry off's.
In the end the second XV made the journey to Brockworth with only 13 players and they played against a full Xv from Brockworth.
To their credit the side only lost in the last few moments of the match
when Brockworth made the extra men count.
Old Cents scored two tries in the match,one of which was scored by Luca
and Liam Hemming converted one try and scored a penalty to complete the scoring
Man of the match in a backs to the wall performance was Ashly Chandler and Tank who stood in as as a makeshift scrumhalf.

Sat 19th Sept;(Home)
Old Cents Seconds 37-0 Glos All Blues Seconds.
For the second week running the second Xv were hit by First team cry offs and one or two players not turning up.
Thanks to Glos All blues lending Cents a player and to Liam Hemmings
mate who turned and played a blinder at Wing forward.
Old Cents started the game strongly and played at a pace that All Blues could not match and within minutes the home side scored a try through Rob Jones that went unconverted.Old Cents kept playing the match at a fast pace and All Blues struggled to keep pace with the home sides very slick passing and quick delivery from rucks and mauls.
Old Cents scored further first half tries through Liam Hemmings,Michael Owen, Alex and Rob Jones second try.Liam converted one of the tries to give Old Cents a 27-0 half time lead.
Old Cents continued to have a lions share of the play in the second half,but to their credit the young Blues side tightened up their game and made the home work harder for their scores.
Old Cents scored two further tries in the second half through Liam Hemmings(second) and Sean Cole.Liam converted one of the tries and this resulted in a final score of 37-0 to the home side.
For the home side Liam Hemmings had a strong game followed by Rob Jones scoring two tries on his first start of the season.Also Liams mate Alex had a very good match along with Ashley Huggins who stepped in to play scrum and did very well.
